Microsoft has announced that its Vista-bundled browser will be renamed to “Internet Explorer 7+” to help differentiate between the separate build for Windows XP. IE7+ will include additional features such as protected mode, parental controls and an improved network diagnostics engine. According to the IEBlog, these features take advantage of native capabilities in the Windows Vista operating system and it wouldn’t have been feasible to port them to older operating systems. There are no feature differences between IE7 and IE7+ beta 2 other than the ones I mentioned above, however MS developers fixed a bunch of bugs between the two releases. More information on how to sign up for Windows Vista beta 2 with IE7+ will be available shortly, but for now, you can download the IE7 beta here. Microsoft have to be always special. At least I hope there will be not 20 bugs a month like in case of IE6…Wednesday, October 1, 2008
